Open Windows in Safe Mode. . .
 

Single Click. . .Start | Select. . .Shut down

Select. . .Restart Windows | Single Click. . .OK

and then as the computer restarts, tap the <F8> key approximately |once every second until the Startup menu is displayed;

Select. . .Safe Mode from the menu

On your keyboard Press the. . .Enter Key

Win98 changes the way you boot to a DOS prompt.

Hold down the Ctrl key while your PC is booting.

This takes you directly to the Startup menu;

Select. . .Safe Mode from the menu

On your keyboard Press the. . .Enter Key

If you have a floppy disk. . .

(1) With your machine in Safe Mode, insert your floppy.

Single Click. . .Start

Select. . .Run

Type. . .:A

Click. . .Open

(2) After installation, close Windows and reopen in normal mode.

Many clients with defective or buggy Windows copies have reported successful installations using this procedure.

If you have a CD. . .

Since "Safe Mode" may not allow your CD-drive access to work, install from the hard drive.

(1) Open Windows Explorer.

(2) Windows 95:

Single Click. . .View on the tool bar Select. . .Options

Ensure that Show all files is selected.

       Windows 98:

Single Click. . .View on the tool bar

Select. . .Folder Options

Select the. . .View Tab

Ensure that Show all files is selected.

 

(3) Create a folder name it CD on your C drive. . .

While still in Windows Explorer

Single click on. . .C drive

Single Click. . .File on the tool bar

Select. . .New | Folder

 

(4) Copy and paste all the files on the CD-ROM into the newly created "CD" folder. . .

Single click. . .on theCD-ROM drive on the left side of the screen. Which will cause all the files to appear on the right side of the screen.

Single click One item on the right side of the screen.

Single click. . .Edit on the tool bar Select. . .Select all

Single click. . .Edit | Select. . .Copy

Then on the left side of the screen Single click the new CD folder you created.

Single click. . .Edit | Select. . .Paste

 

(5) Close down all open applications and. . .

Restart your computer in "Safe Mode"

 

(6) Install. . .

Open Windows Explorer. . .

Single click the new CD folder you created. . .

Double click on the AUTORUN.EXE to install the program.

 

(7) After installation is successful. . .

Restart your computer. . .

Delete the "CD" folder you created and all its files.
